1. Who is author Frank Fiore?

Frank Fiore is a bestselling author with more than 50,000 copies of his non-fiction books in print. He has now turned his talents to writing fiction.

Frank has also written “To Christopher” that, under the guise of a book to his young son, leads the reader through social commentary, personal experience and entertaining stories that take the reader on a thoughtful journey through the challenges and opportunities that face the next generation.

Frank’s writing experience also includes guest columns on social commentary and future trends published in the Arizona Republic and the Tribune papers in the metro Phoenix area. Through his writings, he has shown an ability to explain in a simplified manner, complex issues and trends. During his college years, he founded, wrote and edited the New Times newspaper, now a multi-state operation, which recently purchased The Village Voice.

Frank’s interests in future patterns and trends range over many years and numerous projects. He co-wrote the Terran Project, a self-published book on community futures design processes, and worked as a researcher for Alvin Toffler on a series of high school texts on the future. 2. Can you shed a little light on your new book Cyberkill?

Fans of Tom Clancy, James Patterson and Clive Cussler, would enjoy this twist on the Frankenstein myth.

A brilliant programmer, Travis Cole, inadvertently creates "Dorian," an artificial intelligence that lives on the Internet. After Cole attempts to terminate his creation, Dorian stalks his young daughter through cyberspace in an attempt to reach Cole to seek revenge. When cyber-terrorism events threaten the United States, they turn out to stem from the forsaken and bitter Dorian. In the final conflict, Dorian seeks to kill his creator - even if it has to destroy all of humanity to do it. The geographic locations, government and military installations and organizations, information warfare scenarios, artificial intelligence, robots, and the information and communications technology in this book all exist.

As for SIRUS, pieces of the technology are either in existence or in the research and development stage. According to the Department of Defense, it doesn’t exist. The Fars News Agency of Iran reported otherwise.

3. How much research did you do when preparing to write Cyberkill?

The book was 10 years in the writing. Being a technology book and wanting to be exact as possible, I had to read technical manuals, papers, web sites, and R&D proposals then stretch what I had read into a plausible scenario.

4. Do you believe an author can research a topic to much when writing about it?

An author should research just as much as required to tell a believable story.

5. You recently found out that Cyberkill has been prepared as a screenplay. What's the difference between writing a screenplay and a novel?

Quite a bit. Novels are filed with narrative and descriptions. Screenplays are 90% dialogue and only 10% description and that too is very sparse. Just enough to give the director a feel for place, setting and action.

6. Travis Cole is the main character in Cyberkill. What does this character mean to you and how did you develop this character?

He’s a lot like me. A driven person but in to short cuts. Those short cuts cause a lot of problems in CyberKill. For me, I hired a story polisher to take what I had written and punch it up to make it more professional. He was an accomplished novelist and did the job it would take me years to learn.

7. In your opinion, what is the most difficult part of writing science fiction?

CyberKill is not so much science fiction as it’s science speculation. In either case, believability is the key.

8. You have sold over 50,000 copies of your non-fiction books. What did it take for you to achieve this milestone?

Seriously, very little on the publisher’s part even though they were a big New York house. What made the books a success is that they were part of a recognizable series and recognized as such by readers.

9. Writing is a labor of love and hard work. What brings you the most enjoyment when writing your novels?

Their completion !! As Gloria Steinem once said, “I do not like to write - I like to have written.”

10. What advice can you give to new authors?

Write, write and write. Finish a book and go on to the next. Write as many as you can and don’t look back. There’s only one strategy in my opinion that makes a successful author- one who makes real money. Keep writing until one of your books hits it big. Then, readers will go back and buy your other books. Dan Brown is an excellent example of this.

11. What or who inspired you to write?

No one really. I decided to be a novelist in high school and wrote part of my first novel there. If anything inspires me to write, it’s watching movies.

12. Where can the readers pick up a copy of Cyberkill?

13. Would you like to share any closing thoughts?

Yes. As a writer you have to have a thick skin and you have to not give up. When I get a set back I pick myself up and move forward again. One’s success is in the future – not the past. The future is what you keep your eye on.

The peaceful town of Waxley, located on the edge of Aldash forest, is made entirely of wax. It is the home for a most curious boy, Saucir. However, Saucir is much more then curious; he has an imagination large enough for three children his age. With his oversized imagination, Saucir pretends to defend Waxley from the ghouls and monsters that live in the Aldash forest on a daily basis.

While playing one day, Saucir crosses paths with a pigeon. After a brief conversation with the bird, he gets a wonderful idea….he wants to fly like the pigeon. But Saucir has no idea how to fly. When told of Saucir’s idea, the pigeon just laughs and replies “you don’t have wings.” Saucir is not that easily deterred from his dream of flight so he wanders off to find a way to fly. While thinking of flight, Saucir walks until he is in front of the candy store. Saucir’s dream of flying is put on hold at the thought of candy. With his favorite candy (the jawbreaker) in hand Saucir makes his way to the playground eager to share his dream with his friends. As he makes his journey, Saucir begins eating this oversized ball; determined to get the special prize in the center. But like learning to fly, even getting the prize from his favorite candy seems to take forever. At the playground, Saucir shares his dream with his friends but the response is the same “you don’t have wings.”

Angered by the same response but still determined, Saucir hurries home to tell his family about his dream. Surely, they would be supportive in his dream. Imagine his heartbreak when he hears “you can’t fly, you don’t have wings.” Furiously, Saucir
runs away, racing deep into the Aldash forest right into a cave. Suddenly, before his wide eyes, he gawks in awe at the most magnificent flying creature in the area, Brax the dragon.

Brax, being a wise and compassionate creature, is intrigued by this boy who has invaded his home. He listens while Saucir shares his dream of flying. After their encounter, Saucir heeds Brax and heads home too apologizes to his parents for running away but, that does not deter his dream to fly. He wants to fly now. He does not want to learn in school first as Brax also advised. Will the impatient determined, Saucir finally learn too fly?

“Give Wings to My Triumph”, is a delightful tale that will capture the imagination of children while teaching them the importance of having morals – the virtue of patience, and to be respectful of a loving family.

Rothe has the unique ability to craft positive morals and ethics within an adventurous tale. His writing style is descriptive and fun – surely this tale with put a smile on the faces of both children and the young at heart.

1. Who is author Perry Ennis?

I’m a believer in the truth of the Holy Scriptures that reveal the one true living Creator/Savior God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I am a sinner that has been redeemed by the blood of the perfect Lamb of God, His Son, Jesus, Yahshua the Messiah. I am a humble, sanctified person that prayed for, and received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of the living God, Yahweh that empowers me to live for Him and fulfill the purposes He has for my live. I believe that one of the most important purposes that our heavenly Father envisioned for me to fulfill in this life was the researching, writing and publishing of my book entitled “Prepare for the Coming of Messiah,” and now the successful promotion of the book so people everywhere will know about it and it’s importance. I am very blessed to be the husband of my wife Deborah and the father of our children Amanda and Joshua.

2. You researched end-time prophecy for 26 years. How long did it take you to actually write your book?

Eight years.

3. What motivated you to write this in-depth, detailed novel?

Our Lord and Savior, bless be His Holy name, had mercy on me and saved me in the spring of 1972 from a close call with suicide. From the time I began studying the scriptures to learn more about our Creator and Savior, I was drawn to the scriptures that reveal the truth about the first and second coming of our master and King, Jesus whose name in Hebrew is translated and spelled Yahshua, or Yeshua. The more I studied and began to understand the prophecy scriptures that relate to the first and second coming of the Messiah, the more compelled I was to study and learn more.

So that they can read and comprehend Biblically based answers to the difficult questions that people from all backgrounds have regarding the rapid changes we are witnessing take place in our world today. It is imperative that all people, believers and non-believers, come to the truth of understanding that we are living in the last years of the last generation of this age before a new and different age is ushered in. The catastrophic events that have been happening in recent years and those happening now are only a preview of even more devastating catastrophes that will continue to escalate in numbers and intensity so that the very core and foundations of the physical earth and the societies of the nations of this world will be shaken like no other time in all of history. Our Creator has inspired me by the indwelling of His spirit to write a book that includes many of the scriptures of His words on the pages, in order to warn people everywhere to repent and prepare for His coming righteous judgment of nations and individuals. Our Creator is literally bringing about the end of this age as we know it in order to establish His Kingdom here on earth that will be made up of those that have accepted Him. The birthing of His Kingdom on this earth will come forth with much violence and devastation because Satan the present ruler of the world will not give up his kingdom without creating through his pawns, an unprecedented war at the end call Armageddon.

6. What is the message you wish to convey with 'Prepare for the Coming of Messiah'?

Educate yourself about the reality of the shadow government within the government of the US political system. Research the famine and flu plagues that are coming to this country and prepare yourself and your family the best you can for the worst. But most importantly, know who your Creator and Savior is. Recognize that you, me and all people have committed sin, and then accept what He has made available that will pay and cancel your sin debt. Trust His Holy Word from in the scripture of the Bible. Be prepared to die at any moment, because you may and will at some point in time. Have the assurance that you can stand before the awesome Creator of this universe without fear because when you had the opportunity in this life, you entered into a close, loving, covenant relationship with Him and He knows you.

7. You have so many positive endorsements from many people and groups. Do you feel validated about your research from these positive endorsements?

Yes I do. It truly blesses my heart to know that the scriptures and my paraphrases and teachings in the book have helped many people as they continue to grow through their faith journey. I like helping people everywhere, most that I will never meet on this side of eternity. The best way I can help them is to provide what they need most in life apart from food and the basics, and that is answers from the scriptures and my testimony that there is a true, and real living God that loves each and every one of us, and who desires to have an intimate relationship with us so He can call us one of His and bless us with all that we need in this life including protection through the coming horrific tribulation.

8. What has this novel meant to you as an author and a Christian?

It has been a true labor of love of typing and editing many nights and weekends over an eight year period. In the book I have expounded upon wonderful revelation knowledge of the end of days prophecies to enlighten the reader of the master plan of our Creator leading up to the final showdown between Himself, His redeemed and His holy warrior angels against His and our adversary, Satan the devil, his fallen angles and the unsaved of the world that will at time be a part of the anti-Christ beast system. Helping the reader to grasp and improve their understanding of the important second coming of Messiah prophecies pales in comparison to the importance of helping the reader to make the sincere and conscious decision to accept the blood of Jesus, Yahshua the Messiah as payment for their sin debt, and to ask Him to impart His Holy Spirit into their life so they will be saved and have the assurance of eternal life. If the significant investment I have made in time, money and hard work produces the fruit of just one person reading this book and making the most important decision there is in life which is to accept Jesus, Yahshua, and be born of His Spirit, then all of the investment will be worth it and I will rejoice with that individual throughout all of eternity, forever.

9. You reference many different translations of the Holy Bible. Why?

I used the five different translations I had during the time I was writing the book because when teaching an important truth from the scriptures, one translation will often convey a better rendering of truth that is being taught than others. All through the book when scripture is on the page there was a studying process I did to attempt to use the best translation I had for the readers benefit.

10. What's next for author Perry Ennis?

My heart’s desire is for this book to be well received by people from many backgrounds all over the world so these important messages will reach as many people as possible because we don’t have but a few years before the dreaded great tribulation transitions onto the world scene. I hope to retire within the next year or two so I can be available to travel and teach from the book at conferences, churches and wherever our Heavenly Father Yahweh opens the doors for me go. I’ve been blessed to be able to be a part of a tour to Israel this coming November of 09. I have had a great desire to take in the land and culture of the land of our ancient Israelite ancestors for many years now and Father is faithful as always, and has made the trip possible at his appointed time. I know that He has plans for me to be a part of assisting many people to make aliyah to the place of protection in Israel just before the persecution of the Great Tribulation begins. There is a much greater than the first exodus to the promised land coming, when those of the ten lost tribes of Ephraim join with their brother of the tribes of Judah on the land to fulfill the prophecies in Ezekiel 37 and become the restored Israel that has been Father Yahweh desire from the beginning. I pray that it is in His will that I can be a part of assisting with that incredible part of His awesome end-time plan.

11. Would you like to add any closing thoughts today?

Our Creator loves you and I more then we can possibly comprehend in this life. Seek to know Him through prayer and His Holy Scriptures recorded in the Bible with all of your heart. Desire to understand the covenant that He established with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and the prophets, and enter into that covenant by putting your faith in the blood of His only Son, Jesus who came forth from His Father’s throne in heaven to be born as a human being and give His life so that all who accept him can be saved and not perish. Know this, we are certainly in the final years that are winding down before the time of the great persecution and tribulation begins. The time is coming when everyone will have to choose who the one true, creator God is. That decision will seal the person making it destiny for eternity. In every situation in life that requires a decision you can only make the best decision if you have the best information. Read and study, the Word of truth so you will not be ashamed when you stand before your judge and king. It is written, "They have conquered him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus, Yahshua) and by the word of their testimony, for they did not cling to life even in the face of death.” Revelation 12:11 NRSV

Duckworth-Elliott delivers a rich in-depth look into Native American tradition and history. Her characters are both believable and easy to connect with. While Elliott shares the wisdom of Mackenzie’s grandfather through this main character’s adventures, the reader is able to feel McKenzie spiritually grow and transform into a woman where now she claims her Wampanoag identity.

Elliott entwines her endearing story into the fabric of history and breathtaking settings. What motivated you too write children's books?

My intentions were to write mystery novels. But when the time came to get started, I think Jesus had other plans. He put beautiful, innocent words and thoughts in my mind, which led me instead, to carry His message of love to little children. I have found much joy in that.

You have developed so many wonderful and colorful characters for your books. Which character is your favorite? Why?

Bingo, because he was my first fun character. He also plays a big role in my “All God’s Critters” Young adult novel I’m writing. (Comedy/Adventure) Bears are easy, lovable, and fun to write about. Did you know that Dancing Bears only appear to be dancing? Most likely, they’ve been Bee stung in the rear end while trying to rob honey.
Opal runs a close 2nd. She’ll steal a lot of hearts.

Music and song play a large role in your stories. Are you a musician as well as an author?

Yes, I play several musical instruments, but not professional. My intention however is for the children to experience Christian values and morals, to sing and play for the Lord. He likes music. We’ve learned that from the early Biblical teachings.

What is the most difficult part of writing a children's book?

For me, it is keeping the story within the right age level of understanding. That’s why I am writing an “All God’s Critters” novel for young adults that have a compilation of five different but related stories, yet there will be five individual toddler books in the series. There will be more All God’s Critters series to come.

Have you entertained the idea of writing a book in a different genre?

My concentration at this time is only on my “All God’s Critters” novel and toddler books. Perhaps at a later date.

All of your books have morals and Christian values instilled in the story. Do you feel that it is important for children's books to teach as well as entertain?

An example is in the songs they’ll get to sing for Jesus. Then in the book Sal and Sally, they’ll get to blow bubbles for Jesus. Is that fun or what?

Christina grows to adulthood during a very difficult period of time. What advice would she offer to the children of today who are becoming adults?
Christina challenges us to think through what so many might call a "no brainier" situation. Of course one wants better for the family. Of course one should jump up and meet the challenge, taking a proactive role and doing something. Of course, perhaps the fault lies with us for being compliant, not making our voices heard, and marching meekly to the orders of destruction. Fear is an awful thing and bravery is rare.

The cover of Evensong has a soothing relaxing feel; whereas, the story is neither soothing nor relaxed. Can you tell us about the cover and how it relates to the story?
I wanted to show the innocent victims of war and their resilience, where even smelling a flower can bring joy in the worst of situations.

Evensong is your debut novel. What was the most challenging aspect of getting your book published?
Working every single day for a solid year to put my book out there. It was more difficult than writing it!

What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
I swear, if you are not obsessive/compulsive you will not get it done.

Did marketing and promoting "Evensong" meet your expectations?
Yes, definitely. My book is out there.

What can we look forward to in the future from M.L. St. Sure?
Believe it or not, there is a sequel. That should surprise a lot of my readers!

Would you like to include any final thoughts today?
Yes. I would like to thank you, Brian for rolling up your sleeves and working so hard. Who we really are and what we are made of usually doesn't materialize until the job is done. And I can say that you have been remarkable.

Now for the fun part; everyone who comments on this interview (both today and tomorrow) will be entered into a drawing for a free copy of "Evensong." Evensong is an interesting title which has a meaning. I have read the meaning of Evensong but for our readers could you explain the meaning of Evensong?

In the New Testament, a brief hymn of praise sung by the aged Simeon, who had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he had seen the Messiah. Simeon was at the Temple in Jerusalem when Mary and Joseph came to present the infant Jesus for the rite of purification according to Jewish law and custom. Simeon recognized the baby as the promised Saviour, took him in his arms, and raised his hymn of praise. Found in Luke 2:29-32, it is called the Nunc Dimittis for its first words in the Latin of the Vulgate Bible: Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine, secundum verbum tuum, in pace, "Now, Master, you can let your servant go in peace, just as you promised." Because of its implications of fulfillment, peace, and rest, the early church viewed it as appropriate for the ending of the day. Since the 4th century it has been used in such evening worship services as Compline, Vespers, and Evensong. My book EVENSONG based its ending on this definition and therefore, the title.

You have so many wonderful characters in Evensong. One of which is Christina Cross. Can you tell us about her?

Christina Cross is a spirited young woman who knows there is something better for her family than the harsh farmland in Kelly Flat, Missouri. She yearns to unlock the secrets of her father's military past, to know about the possible, to break out of her cocoon and emerge to live life. She is strong, devoted and loyal.

Speaking of wonderful characters; we cannot forget Christina's little sister Nicolette. She is the perfect example of childhood innocence in the midst of war. Can you tell us more about the little girl?

Nicolette is an innocent bystander with all that happens in her life. As with most young children, they take the best that life has to offer and then run with it. Harsh realities, the cost of war, the miserable existence, all of it rolls into optimism.

War is a cruel and violent experience for all involved. In Evensong you were able to walk the fine line between giving enough information about the horrors of war and too much. Was it difficult to capture the reality of war without crossing that line?

The war journal my father left me was horrific. I knew I had to soften that line, and it was difficult because I wanted to blurt out the whole ugly story.

You dedicated Evensong to your father. Did his experience during World War II influence your writing of Evensong?

My Dad was in the Marines during World War II. As a child I questioned him many times about his shiny medals, photographs, letters and postcards to my Mom; things about the war. It seemed the more I pressed him for answers, the more reticent he became. By the time I was eight years old I was writing war stories in the closet where my Dad's uniform hung. I became obsessed with writing. One day I mailed a story to the Oakland Tribune, and it was published the next weekend in the "Aunt Elsie" column. Well, that did it for me. I was a PUBLISHED author! I was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and a few years later, I entered college and majored in English. I was still writing stories in my free time. A friend of mine who was editing for me, suggested I attend the Iowa Writer's Workshop in Iowa City, Iowa. So off I went to write more stories, and I absolutely loved it! I had just finished a summer session when I received a phone call from my Mom. She said my Dad had just passed away from an aneurysm. I was devastated. My chance to know him was over. A few months later, a package arrived in the mail. I opened it, and wrapped in old newspapers were my Dad's war journals. What a day that was for me. Though by the time I began reading them, I soon understood why he never spoke of the war. It took me a long time to absorb, to rethink, rehash everything that had happened to him. I really took it hard. My husband, Ken and my daughters encouraged me to write his story; that it would be therapeutic. So I began writing, and I could tell with each page I finished I was beginning to come to terms with my grief. By the time I was finished, I was healed. My book EVENSONG is dedicated to my Dad.
